Movie Meme

Got this from JoJo's blog.  Thought I'd work on it while waiting for the turkey to cook.  I watch way too much television and movies.  Oh well, there are worse bad habits.  Here goes!

*Favourite FilmDr. Strangelove - Dark comedy with Peter Sellers in three roles.  Absolutely LOVE it.
*Least Favourite Film: Can't really pick just one as there are so many.  Pretty much any frat boy movie or chick flick you can think of.  Not into those at all.

*Favourite ComedyMonty Python & The Holy Grail - I've memorized lines from this movie as I am a Monty Python fanatic.
*Favourite DramaThe Life of David Gale

*Favourite ActionRaiders of the Lost Ark

*Favourite Horror/Suspense:  The Shining - No one does crazy like Jack Nicholson.  lol

*Movie You Are Embarrassed To Say You Like: Talladega Nights (I generally don't care for Will Farrell but this movie made me laugh)

*Movie With Your Favourite Villain: Silence of the Lambs (Hannibal Lecter still gives me nightmares)

*Movie With Your Favourite Superhero Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade - I'm taking this from JoJo's lead with Luke Skywalker.  Indiana Jones is my superhero.  ;-)

*First Movie You Ever Remember WatchingMary Poppins - with my mom, aunt and two cousins.  Made me appreciate being an only child when I got my own book and my cousins had to share. They fought over the book while I sat reading mine on the way home.  Ever since then, I told my mother to scratch the idea of a brother or sister - especially not a sister.  lol
*Last Movie You WatchedFair Game (Not great, not horrible)

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans.  Hope you all have a great day!

A Couple of Videos

First, the non-political one and then the political one.  For those who want to stay out of my political views, feel free to skip.  I know politics is a hot button topic but this is who I am and I can't help myself even if I try to avoid it. Also it's a response to the person who tried to comment via a newly made up fake blog account because he/she is a coward.

In any case, the first video is from The Colbert Report.  It was a nice surprise and I wanted to share it here and have it on hand for easier viewing.  Stephen Colbert, who has excellent taste and who admires R.E.M. as much as I do and he had Michael Stipe on as a bit of a tribute to the band.  His guest that evening was Brian Eno - another artist I also absolutely love - and the three of them sang Lean on Me.   Stephen Colbert is genius.  He really makes what he does look easy.

Maherjunkie gave me the heads up on this. I've been watching the Republicans debate and have wanted to alternately laugh at the buffoonery and scream at my television screen for them to STFU and pull their heads from out of their ass.

The only exception - Jon Huntsman who is a decent fellow, very bright and not insane and in denial about reality. He served as ambassador to China for our current president. The man is not a nutjob like the rest of the panel. I may disagree with him on some issues but basically, he's not stupid enough or crazy enough to gain any traction in the Republican party of today.

By the way, this in no way means I think the Democrats are great.  They're not.  They have many failings of their own.  I just find them to be more acceptable than Republicans.  They don't cheer for the number of people murdered in the state of Texas by the death penalty.  They don't boo an American soldier serving in Afghanistan just because he happens to be gay.  They don't yell "let 'em die" when discussing people who are too poor to afford healthcare in this country.  Republicans cheered these things at their debates.  They are horrible human beings.  They are what is dragging this country back into the dark ages.  They are what is wrong with not just America but the world as there are conservatives everywhere.

Posted by alhanablue on YouTube. The song is by Lily Allen. The actual song is called Fuck You (Very Much).
