Now I'm in search of something new to obsess over. It could have been Detroit 1-8-7 but ABC has decided it didn't want an intelligent crime drama on their station. They'd rather have The Bachelor - you know that intellectual powerhouse (heavy on the sarcasm here). So basically Americans would rather watch a bunch of women whoring themselves out on television for a fake relationship (they never work except for that Krista person I think found her boy toy on her try at finding 'true love') fighting over some mimbo who turns out to be an asshole.
The vast wasteland of television and all I can look forward to is Hawaii Five-O, which isn't exactly rocket science. It's just in Hawaii and I can see weekly glimpses of home and the guys are all hot and Grace Park I'm sure appeals to men. Although my husband says 'she's got no boobs.' lol He also thinks she needs to eat more as she disappears when she turns sideways. I love my husband. :-D
Blue Bloods is an interesting show. Unfortunately, the showrunner Ken Sanzel, is leaving due to creative differences between himself and Tom Selleck, who stars as the show's patriarch. Ken Sanzel wants the show to be more of a procedural an Selleck wanted to explore the personal aspects of the family members in this family of police officers and lawyers. Sounds like Balcer and D'Onofrio to me.
So it's up in the air now as to whether or not the show will continue to be good. Although I do prefer the family side of the story.
But still, it's not LOCI. I need to explore more cable shows I think. Weeds and Dexter sound interesting. I tried Mad Men but something about it leaves me flat.
So if you have any suggestions, let me know. At the moment, I'm looking forward to Project Runway. Yes, I know, fluff. But it's creative fluff and I love Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum. ;-)
In the meantime, I'm a little late for Vincent D'Onofrio's birthday and a little early for Kathryn Erbe's but I figure somewhere in the middle is good since work has been kind of hectic as of late.
So Happy Birthday to my favorite actor, Vincent D'Onofrio on June 30 (same as my stepson so it's not like I forgot) and my favorite actress, Kathryn Erbe, July 5. Hope they get all the wonderful things they deserve.
Vincent & Kathryn at USA Upfronts
Well, have to get things ready for cooking out on the fourth. Jimmy works so it will be just me and my hubby. Later this week we're doing a belated Father's Day, Happy birthday Jimmy combo thing. For my upcoming birthday, I'm celebrating by basically being left alone. Will have a cake and sit with my husband and have our own LOCI marathon. The man has excellent taste after all. ;-)
Hope all my fellow Americans have a Happy Fourth! To everyone else, hope you have a great weekend. Looks like ours will be perfect for cookouts and fireworks.

Dexter is very good. And so is the united states of Tara.
Oh yes! Saw one episode of The United States of Tara. I think I'll check Netflix for that - and Dexter. Michael C. Hall is another of my favorites.
Buy Season 6 - it's supposedly just out on pre-order in the US, and mine should be on its way across the pond. That really had some great episodes.
Dexter is brilliant. I read the first book before I saw the TV show. It's blessed with perfect casting. My only gripe is it pulls a long way away from the books really quickly, maintaining the great character so perfectly played by Michael C. Hall, but losing some fo the author's incredible storylines.
I have to admit I even liked the Logan episodes season 6 on since they got rid of Barek. Six is one of my favorite seasons for Goren and Eames.
I also vote for dDexter. Try it, I think you'll like the show.
When you can get it somewhere try Huff. There were only two season but it's great.
I also like The Good Wife
I have season 6 on its way too...one of my favourite seasons too...with the wonderful Endgame!
Its hilarious. there is one fan site that only ever comes alive when its being negative about Leight and sycophantic about Balcer...and they are still doing that! Its like an illness or a blind spot!Ha!
I loved Goren and Eames season 6 and I liked Logan and Wheeler but really, the only episodes I want are Goren and Eames. That's the only reason I hesitate to buy the entire year. I'd prefer to buy individual episodes I think. Oh well, I'll probably get them anyway. lol
You can buy the individual episodes of Season 6 on Amazon.com for $1.99 each. You can then watch them on your computer, or download them to your laptop, or stream them to your TV...if you have that technology. I recently bought a Blu-Ray player with wi-fi connectivity and hooked it to my HD TV that has an HDML (think that's what it's called) hook-up, so I can connect to my Amazon Videos through my Blu-Ray player and stream them to my TV. It's something to think about. You can also stream Netflix this way.
And, if you have an iPod or Apple device, you can buy the individual episodes through the Apple Store. I own them both ways, so I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the whole season on DVD...until the price comes down.
Thanks for the advice, BobbyG. I'm okay with the Logan episodes for seasons 6 and 7. But I mainly buy them for Goren and Eames. I would like some Logan episodes like To The Bone and a lot from season 7. But mainly if I want great Logan episodes I'd buy seasons 1-5 of the mothership. LOCI is Goren and Eames for me.
The Killing, American version, started here yesterday.I really like it,especially the lead woman detective character...she has charisma.
Also Forbes, who was in In Treatment, is in it.
It doesnt have the same appearance as most American cop shows, its different.I was surprised.
I think ill watch it through to its end of season anyway. Its not the crime story so much as how they are telling it that is dfferent.
I really like the style. The danish original had this nordic style about it too...lik the swedish Wallander TV version. Its another approach to the same old stories.
Never heard of The Killing. I'll have to check and see about that. Right now I don't have a lot of time for television but I definitely have a good list of things to start with. :-)
I still have yet to see the series finale of LOCI b/c I was on the road at the time it aired. We were in Montana that night. I can't think of any shows that are worth watching at all.
I can't think of anything the likes of LOCI that one can actually obsess about. I mean there are other shows I like (most of them have been cancelled in the last year or so, though), but there's just no other LOCI.
