Town Hall meetings over health care have proven one thing to me. Many Americans are stupid, selfish and shortsighted. I am fed up with my fellow Americans. Apparently Sarah Palin has a Facebook account and discusses 'Death Panels.' Another stupid thing she's made up. People are actually talking about death panels. They make me want to have one for stupid people. They would all be slated to die. Too stupid to live. Seriously. I'm disgusted and dismayed.
The questions that are being asked by some people are so stupid, I feel as if they're just saying it for the attention. A double-take if you will. Like, did that woman actually say 'take the government out of Medicare?' I mean can anyone be that stupid and survive to adulthood? WTF??? If she were standing in front of me I'd be tempted to slap her to see if her head echoes from the emptiness.
We don't deserve health care reform. We deserve the mess we have and we should all just die. Never mind that the rest of the civilized world seems to have government sponsored health care and they've got longer life expectancy, lower infant mortality rates and generally better health. We like our fucked up system just fine.
Basically, we're AFRAID of any real change. Thank you FIX and all you right wing nut jobs. You've accomplished what you set out to do; scare the population into believing some of the outrageous allegations made by the fear mongers.
Between Glenn (not sure if there's one or two n's in his name, don't really care) Beck and his "Nazi" tree and Rush Limbaugh making up stories about Nazi's (if you're going to accuse at least try and be accurate in your accusations and don't invent things that are blatantly NOT true) it seems the radical right has lost their collective mind. Seems having a black man in the Oval Office, a Hispanic liberal woman on the Supreme Court and the demographics showing that they're a shrinking group composed mostly of people over 65, the radical right is going down fighting. Glenn Beck wants "his America back." You know, Glenn, as Jon Stewart pointed out, so do the Native Americans. Get in line behind them. They've been asking longer than you.
Oh and speaking of the fat head, I need to correct a couple statements and accusations I made about Rush Limbaugh being back on drugs. Apparently he is on some sort of rapid weight loss program. From what I can tell, basically it sucks all the fat from your body and sends it straight to your head.
From what I can tell, by the time we get any kind of 'reform' in our health care system, it won't be much reform at all because we're all too stupid to realize the insurance companies and right wing nuts are trying to keep the status quo, which in the long run will kill us. Literally.
My frustration is also high over the morons who are suddenly worried about our constitutional rights. Where the fuck were you when the Patriot Act came about? Didn't care about your rights then did you? Only when you think it will have some sort of affect on your pocket book do you scream. The deficit didnt' matter while we sent more people to be killed in Iraq than died in the 911 attack that we were supposedly fighting for. It matters now that it's taking away YOUR job and YOUR well being.
Right now I'm feeling very misanthropic. Considering where I live - in the middle of la-la conservativeland - I feel like everyone is stupid and useless. People here watch Glenn Beck and like him. I think I'm going to just stay home until this whole thing blows over or else I will walk up to the next nut job I overhear in the local CVS parking lot saying he likes that Glenn Beck fella and smack him upside the head.
Oh wait, it's county fair week. I'll have to spend one day and one evening walking around amidst the stupid people. Wish me luck staying out of trouble.

And now they are slagging off the British National Health Service. Even though we are rated 18th worldwide and the US 37th, they still think your system performs better.
For those who can afford it, maybe it does. But when they talk about percentages of people diagnosed with, say breast cancer who are cancer-free five years later, it seems to me that in the UK, a greater number of sufferers will be diagnosed than in the US, because everyone can visit a doctor without charge and be referred to oncology. I wonder how many people in the US just die without diagnosis because they cannot afford to see a doctor?
Like the death penalty and the right to own a gun, it's primitive and belongs to a different age.
Excellent point about people going too long without diagnosis, Val. I know many people who are diagnosed too late because they refuse to go to the doctor or put it off until the last moment.
People in this country just make me crazy. We're so brainwashed we can't tell the truth from fiction. I'm quite fed up with it all. Especially the stupid people who are the most outspoken.
They also hold up how we have all this great cutting edge medicine. What good is it if we can't take advantage of it because we can't afford it? It's insanity and it will kill us all in the end.
Well, it will kill the poor...
