It's a sad day in America. Senator Edward M. Kennedy has died from brain cancer today. It is a great loss and marks the end of an era. The American people have lost a true champion and I can only imagine the difference he could have made in this whole health care debacle. I'd call it a debate but when one side is talking about 'death panels' and screaming about how the president is a Nazi, it's difficult to actually say it's a debate as much as it's a disgrace to all things intelligent and thoughtful.
So rest in peace Teddy. You have gone to a far better place than we find ourselves in at the moment. Thank you for your lifetime of service and all the benefits I have had in my life because of you and your family. If more of the 'haves and have mores' [Bush's constituency as he described them] were like you, this country would have be a better place today.

I'm very saddened by this. He wasn't perfect, mind you, but he was pretty darn good!
I like that... "the have and the have mores";brilliant! Says it all in a nutshell.
I wrote about him on Major case site because of all he did for Northern Ireland. He changed himself and he changed the situation there. What more can a human being do!
And i also want VDO to play him in the film they will inevitably do of his life. VDO for Ted Kennedy!
OMG, now that is an idea...!
It's been suggested over here that his death may help the healthcare legislation. Let's hope so.
Yes, the health care debate could use some help. The radical right is doing good job muddying up the works by throwing out their fear mongering tactics. They won't be happy until we are all dead, IMO.
Here's hoping Kennedy's legacy includes being an influence on the better nature of his colleagues in congress.
