The latest from U2

A week of U2 on Letterman and they're making appearances elsewhere to promote their new album and tour. I hope all those conservative bastards at a particularly conservative classic rock forum get so mad they choke. lol Nothing gets some of those people madder than Bono. Guess they don't like nice guys. If you don't want to shoot something or go around doing copious amounts of drugs and making fools of yourselves, they don't like them.

Ah well, I'm quite happy to see them back. Been watching Dave and their performances. Along with R.E.M., these guys are like old friends who have been around since my college radio days and they just get better with age.

The new album is called No Line on the Horizon and this song is called Breathe. It was posted to YouTube by KEVINSCOOT713.

Gonna have to give the album a complete listening and come up with a review.

In the meantime, do watch Dave or tape him if you can't. The boys did a top ten list for him last night. The Edge even improvised and was quite adorably funny. Dave enjoyed it. :-D

You know what I LOVE the most about U2 (apart from the music!)? The fact that they're a 'proper' band, not something 'manufactured' by some silly TV show. There's something about that that just makes me very happy.

Weird piece of trivia. I am a supporter of Millwall Football Club (as in proper football, what Americans call soccer) and in the 60s, when my fanhood was at its height, they had a player called Eamonn Dunphy. He was too skillful a player for them, as they were pretty much sloggers, and he was rather more intellectual than most footie players. In another life he became a writer and did an early biography of U2.

I love the album. Watched all the Letterman shows Sunday from my DVR...U2's interview was great.
