So Joe the Plumber, a/k/a Joe Wurzelbacher, has a job as a reporter. He's going off to the middle east as a reporter. Yep, because those of us trained in the craft have too much of a grasp of the situation? We speak proper English? We can understand that Barack Obama's plan is better for Joe the dumbass plumber than John McCain's? We would show up if invited to a rally by our chosen candidate? We are not losers?
It's infuriating to think he and that media spotlight loving moron Sarah Palin are being offered jobs not because of their qualifications but because they're fun to laugh at. Seriously. That's the only purpose those two serve. They are proving that the news is becoming more and more like the Jerry Springer show. Let's feature dangerously inbred stupid people and make them into media stars. No wonder people think Americans are stupid.
If we didn't elect Barack Obama, I would be worried. However, we did elect him and it does show the world that we do value intelligence and thoughtfulness.
To those who read this blog who aren't Americans, please believe me when I say these two are for entertainment purposes only. We don't really want to put them in charge of anything important. Now I have to hope that Ohio doesn't put Joe the dumbass plumber in office. It's been said he's planning to run for office there.

A supposed Vixen obviously in favour of free speech (hem, hem)had a go at me on my own blog for speaking out against Palin (as I was free to do) and buggered off (as she was free to do). She thought Palin was wonderful and was going to vote for her.

Brighter news...something kinda cool I heard...Marvel comics in the next Spiderman issue is going to have Barack Obama in it -- with his permission of course, with a scene set durring the ignauguration. apparently he used to collect them as a kid -- way cooler than sending some idiot to "report" on the war.
As a lifelong resident of the state of Ohio, I have to -- sadly -- admit that we have our fair share of inbred idiots who just might be dumb enough to elect him to some office. Hopefully not, hopefully nothing more significant than dog catcher...poor dogs.
It's funny, I was just trying to properly cite that quote about how no one goes broke underestimating the American public, and I found this quote, also by Mencken:

I actually think we already had a moron in the White House - but he was just a puppet for Cheney. LOL
All I know is, the smart people in this country better stand up and 'just say no' to stupidity.

That's horrendous. I'm glad you wrote on this topic. I find it an insult -- and you're right, in our society, all you need to do is something stupid and shocking to get recognized. So many people in high places claim to be critical of it, but they help make this stupidity happen!!
