It's Official!

We have a new president and his name is Barack Hussein Obama. I can't tell you how it gave me goose bumps to hear that. As a minority in this country it made me feel good to know that most people in this country aren't ignorant assholes who buy into the bigotry and fear of the unknown or the different. We rose above the right-wing hate speech and rhetoric and chose a man who represents the new face of America. A young, multi-racial country. A country where all people are accepted. Dissention is not seen as unpatriotic.

Never have I felt so good about a new president. Not even when Clinton won in 1992. He came with some baggage that we chose to ignore. Obama comes in without any of that.

I found it fitting that DICK Cheney was leaving in a wheelchair. A symbol of the broken country he left. Biden comes in with the idea of putting things right in the vice president's office. Scaling back the power to a more traditional role.

Goodbye Mr. Bush. I may have hated your policies and just about everyone in your administration but as I look back on it, I know you probably meant well. You were just ill equiped to deal with the office and problems you confronted. It's a shame you still don't realize all the harm you've caused to this country. Perhaps it's for the best for you. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

A new dawn in this country and I was alive to witness it. Several times I found myself getting teary eyed. Even the old dinosaur naysayers around me couldn't dampen my enthusiasm and good feeling. Thank goodness the negative, mean spirited and hatefulness of the previous administration hasn't dampened my outlook as it seems to have for those who for inexplicable reasons (to me anyway) still think Bush wasn't so bad. Guess that's what listening to FIX news exclusively does to a person.

And on a sadder note, it's official that LOCI won't be coming back until summer 2009. That's it for me. I will still watch the show and I still adore Vincent and Kathryn but it just seems like the way things are going, it's going to find it's last hurrah with season 8. How it can survive being gone from the public eye for a year is beyond me.

Well, I'll be back with more thoughts soon. My little blogging vacation has come to an end. Lots to say, lots to think about and I miss you all! Will be back to making my blog rounds with fellow Vincent and LOCI fans. You're the one thing that keeps me hopeful for the show. :-)

Yes and yes. Yesterday was such a wonderful feeling. I wasn't able to watch the inaguration live, but I did catch some of his speech during lunch and watched one of the specials on last night.

This is really the first time my generation has had a figure like this and I pray that he is able to maintain his integrity and sense of self.

And I heard about LOCI -- the thing that frustrates me is that they didn't just say that from the get-go. Because many cable series go 6 months to a year between episodes...but let's get some organization going, people! here's hoping it worth the wait. Thank goodness for the few fanfiction gems I've been able to find...but even those have been sparse lately.

Glad to see you back...I'm sure we've all missed you too.

The show has such faithful fans, the lack of people to watch it every single week shouldn't be the problem. I hope.

I watched the inauguration and I was tearful, too. The reason why Bush won't be affected for the rest of his life by the evil he has committed is because he has not consience. He's both stupid and evil. I loathe him.

I was deeply moved by Obama's speech. I hope he's allowed to at least TRY to make things better.

As for LOCI, I listened again to Vincent on the 'Good Things Utah' show yesterday, about 6 times so that I was sure he DID say what I thought he said. He absolutely, definitely said, he's done 4 episodes, had 4 more to do, and '...then there's another season'.

Sadly, we're at the mercy of USA and it's scheduling, so those that love it will wait, but I don't think it's at all a 'given' that there won't be (Bobby)life after Season 8. It's not over yet!

We need you blogging too, I would miss not having your intellectual thoughts on anything.

As for USA and postponing it until Summer is a move to garner the highest ratings once again for their network. Idol will be over along with the regular network shows. And they can show the shows in order without breaking.

My friend at NBC tagged her friend at USA and they're having problems with Goldblum's scheduled shootings and they had an administration shakeup and changes but they have LOCI penciled in for 2010 so I think they have the support its just that right now the right hand is having trouble reaching the left.

So we'll blog, some will find solace with fan fic (some good, some horrible) and we wait.

Well now we know the problem rests with Jeff Goldblum, firing of writers and directors and producers. none of his episodes are even in the can. So Vincent & Kate's are almost finished. They've hired new people so hopefully Jeff[s will be done by June or we'll be waiting until fall. Damn.
