Having slept on it and checked out what others thought, I finally have decided I am all right with the ending for Logan. My problem was I was expecting some grandiose departure like the one on the mothership. Punching out the ADA? Not quite but you know, along those lines.
However, this ending leaves it open for his possible return one day. Wolf is working on a new project so you never know. And of course there's always the mothership, CI and for me the dreaded SVU. I'd probably even make myself suffer through an episode of that if Logan popped up as a guest star.
It's nice to know Logan goes out doing what he does best - the right thing even if it means thumbing his nose at the system. He doesn't care about his own self-interests. He's glad the ADA is gunning for him now. It's like he's spoiling for a fight.
Poor Ross is seen stressed out at the idea that Logan has made himself a target and doesn't care. In fact is saying he welcomes it. Now he's got Goren and Logan to watch out for. Being stuck in the middle isn't easy but I know Ross is up to the task in the end. Should be interesting to see if the ADA is a recurring character next season. She certainly would replace Nicole Wallace as the most hated woman in the Criminal Intent world. LOL Yes, I'm still hoping Nicole is killed off on this show already. Whether it's a silver bullet from Eames' gun or a stake driven through her calloused heart by Goren, I just want the bitch gone.
Ah but back to Logan. I will definitely miss him. Am working on a slide show of Noth/Logan to help my grieving process. I'm glad I wasn't sobbing over his death last night so it's a celebration. What a great case file to send out a great character.
Over at Major Case there's also been mention of how this episode set things up so we are now concerned for Wheeler and her fiance as the new season begins. I think Wheeler's developed very nicely into a character we care about. Funny how it was her absence that made me realize how well she fit in with Logan.
So off walks Logan into the unknown. Here's hoping he finds something to connect to. And here's wishing Chris Noth all the best and many thanks for giving us eight years of Mike Logan.
