Noth Leaving Criminal Intent

Just as he did all those years ago on the mothership, Logan is once again breaking my heart. It was announced today that Noth will be leaving LOCI. It's not too big a surprise to those of us who have been keeping up with the actor. A new kid, hit movie and eight years of playing the same character - though with a huge break between the first incarnation and second - was probably more than enough incentive for the actor to move on.

Ah well, at least Vincent D'Onofrio has already made it known he plans to stay with the series.

Jeff Goldblum will be taking over for Noth. I like the actor but am not sure he won't be too Goren-like for my liking. There is only one Goren. Trying a female version ala Carolyn Barek was just a dismal failure. I don't think having another detective that quirky will work. But then I am probably just assuming too much.

I will miss you Mike Logan, but you will be fondly remembered through endless repeats. Good luck to Chris Noth and much thanks to him for stepping in and helping the show continue for three more seasons. His return to the L&O universe saved the show and kept Vincent D'Onofrio onboard. Some people who make hateful statements about him best remember that before making any more disparaging remarks about him.
